Coronavirus Safety Protocols
We know everyone is struggling with the COVID-19 pandemic and its economic fallout. To give you some background on our business, Airboat Afrika @ Harties is family-owned and operated. Like many small business owners, when we shut down our business during the lockdown, we were concerned about the livelihoods of our employees and our own. We wanted to get back to business as soon as possible, but there’s one thing we value even more than our income: your and our safety.
When the coronavirus pandemic started, there was uncertainty and confusion about how COVID-19 spread and how people could best protect themselves. As we learn more about the virus, we understand that:
Being in open spaces outdoors is a low-risk activity. By and large, COVID-19 is transmitted via close contact in enclosed spaces.
As outdoor enthusiasts, we have a deep respect for science, so when deciding to restart our Harties airboat tours, we looked to the most current research on COVID-19. After careful deliberation, we are confident that Airboat Afrika @ Harties can operate safely, protecting both your health and the health of our employees. These are the safety protocols that we have put in place during the pandemic:
Safety Protocols for COVID-19
Instead of issuing paper tickets, all ticket sales are digital
Contact details of every guest are to be filled in online
No-contact temperature readings are recorded at check-in
Prior to boarding, everyone must sanitize their hands
All our pilots wear face masks
All guests must wear face masks
Capacity is reduced to a maximum of 4 guests only per ride
After each ride, touch surfaces on board are sanitized with approved cleaning agents
When you have to, cough or sneeze into your elbow
Avoid touching your face
We adhere to guidelines issued by the government regarding outdoor activities
Terms & Conditions
A minimum of 2 passengers booked is required for a ride to launch
In case the minimum is not reached, we will contact you to reschedule or refund
Check in at least 15 minutes before departure
Children must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian
Participation is subject to signature of an indemnity form by every guest prior to departure
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations at least 72h before departure will be refunded, less 25% handling fee (min R250)
No refunds for no-shows or cancellations later than 72h prior to departure
No refunds for persons refused participation by the pilot for reasons involving personal conduct
Safety comes first – if a trip gets cancelled, your ride will be scheduled for another time
Airboat Afrika reserves the right to cancel tours, vary itineraries, amend fares and days of operation
