It is in Your Hands To Make A Better World…

Hennops Revival, led by the indefatigable efforts of Tarryn and her team, organized a major clean up & waste removal on the Hennops River for Mandela Day, 18 July 2020.

This time, the city of Tshwane rallied to the call, starting with a TLB to prepare a launch ramp from the Shisanyama parking down to the river bend. Taking out rocks, leveling the ground and evening out the surface gave us a smooth ramp to launch and land for the day.

… For All Who Live In It

On the big day, there was already a sizable crowd getting prepared. With everything planned ahead, including waders, gumboots, gloves, plastic bags and drinking water – even music!!! – the work went ahead.

The AirScout had developed her own little ideas about getting into the water, but then after lunch we finally came to terms and off we went.

All along the banks, people were rocking the clean up. The vibe on the day was sunny, bright and incredibly positive. What a difference a day makes – at the end there were endless piles of big bags and full container bins to show for all the effort.

“On behalf of MDSA (Miss, Mr and Mrs Deaf South Africa), I would like to thank you for kindly sponsoring the organisation. We truly appreciate it. See you soon 🙂
    P. S: it was one of my favourites last year.
